queen Courtney Rynearson
Hi Rodeo Fans! My name is Courtney Rynearson and I have lived and grown up in this great little town Union, Oregon. I am 16 years old and currently a student at Union High School. My parents are Tim and Tammy Rynearson and I have a younger brother, Wade. I am the granddaughter of Cecil Puckett who was on the court in 1950 and the granddaughter of Marcia and Bruce Rynearson who were the Grand Marshals of the Stock Show last year. Stock Show hasn’t been just a part of my life; it has been a tradition in my family for many years. My dad was president of the Stock Show for 2 years, my mom was queen in 1986, my cousin Kelsey Keagle was queen in 2000 and my cousin Kinsey Keagle was queen in 2005.
My most favorite memory about the Stock Show was when I was 4, I was the flower girl at the Queen’s coronation and I got to hand the flowers to the new queen. Ever since then it has been my dream to be part of the EOLS royalty just like my grandmother, mom and two cousins.
I am greatly involved in 4-H, where for 6 years I have shown horses and pigs and I have been a camp counselor at 4-H camp for the past 2 years. I have also been a member of FFA for 3 years and involved in FBLA for 4 years. My mom and dad are great support in helping me with my animals. They are always there for me to make sure that I have everything that I need. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have been able to pursue my dream of taking my horse to the State Fair in Salem the past 2 years. Every summer I show my horse at many shows including EOLS and the Union County Fair where I participate in English and Western. I am also involved in volleyball, basketball and softball. After high school my dream is to pursue a degree in Equine Science and massage therapy for horses. This year I will be riding Snipper my bay gelding that has been my best friend for the past 8 years. Over those 8 years I have trained Snipper in English, Western, Dressage, hunt seat, trail and we still continue to learn new things every year. I am looking forward to spending this summer riding him in all the parades and rodeos representing the EOLS.
I am so excited that my opportunity is finally here to carry on the tradition of being a part of the EOLS royalty just like my family members. I am so thankful to have the chance to represent EOLS. I plan to give my best to promote the rodeo and the community that supports it. I want to thank my friends and family for all the support that they have given me, if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I hope to see you at the rodeo!

princess Shai Allen
Hey everyone! I’m Shai Allen. I was born and raised in Wallowa County. I live with my grandparents, Steve and Gena Young in Lostine, and my mother, Karen Young, lives in Baker with my three brothers and sister. I started riding horses when I was five years old and have enjoyed it ever since.
I’m currently a sophomore at Wallowa High School. I’m involved in FFA and hold the office as Historian. I’m in 4-H and FFA. I’ve shown at Wallowa County Fair in 4-H with my horse and sheep. This past year, I showed a hog for FFA. I’ve showed twice at Stock Show and have judged there too. In 2008, I bought a new horse named Oscar. For the past five years we’ve been to many horse shows and State Fair. Together we have created a wonderful bond. He’s very energetic and bipolar, but I still love him.
I’m greatly happy to be a part of the Oldest Rodeo in the Northeast. I want to thank everyone who has helped me to get me here! Can’t wait to see everyone in June!!!!
~ Get on, Ride hard, Hold nothing back, and Give it all you’ve got! That’s the country way!!!~
