Tragedy struck in July of 2017 for The Eastern Oregon Livestock Show. 911 was called to report numerous buildings on fire at the EOLS grounds. On arrival, all three horse barns were completely engulfed... a loss of more than can be imagined. With the help of Union, La Grande, Imbler, Cove, North Powder and La Grand rural fire departments, the damage was secluded to only the horse barns and the goat barn. All other structures were saved.
With help from the EOLS Foundation and numerous supporters, the work had begun on the new buildings. Out of the ashes came 3 new horse barns and the Becker Sale Pavilion. With the help of numerous volunteers, donations, sponsors, and more, we turned this tragedy to triumphant.

TRIUMPHANT- Our community has gone beyond ever imagined with the new show barn and the new horse barns. A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers, our members, business's in this area, and anyone else who stepped up to make this happen. We will be ready for the show because of wonderful people!
